When designing cucumber and pickle sorting equipment, we recommend a single set of straight rollers combined with turning flaps that will align the cucumbers and pickles with the rollers. This guarantees that they are consistently sorted by diameter. This is shown in the videos here and below. 

​The opening between the rollers consistently and slowly increases as the rollers carry the cucumbers or pickles forward. Straightened rollers eliminate any pinching or squeezing during sizing. 
​The takeaway conveyors can be positioned a few inches below the rollers so that the cucumbers or pickles are carried to the side of the Sizer, neatly sorted by size. Dividers on the takeaway conveyors can quickly adjust the sizing.​
